GLA commission Wideaware to review policy

Wideaware have been commissioned by the Greater London Authority with the task of reviewing their communication policy strategy in order to help them make sure it is effective, inclusive and reflective of the Mayor’s Equality Strategy for London.

There is a great deal of research that documents that in spite of all possible best intentions, disabled people in London are generally excluded from mainstream information, and social and employment opportunities.

The priority is for London to maintain its reputation as the best city in which to live and do business and for disabled residents to be able to participate in its life and activities as fully as possible.

One way to to address this problem is to make sure that policies and information are truly accessible and inclusive to people of all abilities.

As a successful training and consultancy business, 100% owned and led by disabled people, we are very proud to be supporting the GLA in their quest for better inclusion through a thorough usability and accessibility review of their Communications policies, and selected events .
