Wideaware chosen by Southwark Council

Wideaware are delighted to have secured this important contract with Southwark Council, as the e-learning programme will support Council employees, voluntary sector workers and teaching staff who work in the borough of Southwark.

This online solution is part of a drive towards cost-efficient, accessible training to improve disability and inclusion at a time of austerity for the public sector.

These self-paced training modules will help front line staff in dealing with issues in relation to disabled service users they might meet during their work. It will equip them with the confidence to provide an inclusive service, making reasonable adjustments where necessary and identifying barriers in service provision.

Maria Zedda, Director of Wideaware said: “We are very excited to be working with one of the largest London boroughs who have a reputation for being inclusive. The best thing about this is that so many people in the borough will have access to this training for free when it’s completed, with the potential to leave a real legacy of inclusion for all residents of Southwark”.
